*About usage
From items received starting in 2025, the wick has become slightly thinner, making it a bit lighter to raise and lower. However, the gear mechanism is very delicate, so please do not force it or raise/lower it unnecessarily. Doing so can cause a malfunction.
Because air can easily enter through the burner, this lantern is not suitable for use outdoors in strong wind.
*About Fuel
The fuel we recommend is inexpensive kerosene available at gas stations, or white kerosene that can be purchased online. Many other widely available lamp oils (paraffin oils) can also be used, but for lamps that draw fuel up through a wick to burn, oils with a higher viscosity or flash point may not burn well in some cases. For outdoor use, we recommend a kerosene (white kerosene) that performs well in cold weather and burns brighter.
A relatively stable lamp oil that we have tested in-house is Kameyama Paraffin Oil (Clear).
*About Quality and Design
Because of how the burner and tank are threaded together, the position of the burning handle extending from the side of the burner may not always match what is shown in the photo.
Because the threaded section mentioned above and the burner body itself are made of soft brass, some units may be slightly tilted.
Because the construction is classic and handmade, we ask that customers who want a flawless product refrain from purchasing.
